It will be a fun family day creating sand castles and sculptures with the community! \n\n\n\nPlease remember to plan ahead. Pre-registration is necessary for a guaranteed space. Register early at Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce's Zero Main Street\, 2nd Floor office\, or online www.nisda.org. Come and enjoy the day!\n\n\n\n The Event happens in fog and sun! Call NISDA at 508-221-5571 between 11 and 12 am if windy or rainy for confirmation.\n\n\n\n Building area: Jetties Beach\, east of the Jetty. Participants check-in at 11:30 am. PREPARATION AND BUILDING ON YOUR PLOT may begin immediately after you've been officially checked in at noon. Spaces not claimed by 2:00 pm will be assigned to the waiting list of registrants.\n\n\n\n Be creative... you may use hand tools and aids such as bucket and forms to build. The emphasis is on building and decorating with Nantucket nature\, shells\, etc... hand-made ornaments and decorations indigenous to the island may be used (no dyes or paint ) or food (flour\, sugar). Please remember to take away all non-beach friendly objects to protect our fragile ecosystem. PLEASE DO NOT POST ADVERTISING PLACARDS OF ANY KIND.\n\n\n\n TEAMS: The age group of the team is that of its oldest member. A Family Team consists mainly of children\, with one or two accompanying adults\, older siblings\, grandparents\, etc. A Family Team that has all adults\, a majority of adults or adults and teens is considered an Adult Team. Do encourage your children's castle building\, but if you are not registered\, please remember no hands-on building!\n\n\n\n Nantucket Community Arts Organization\, Education\, Science\, Music\, Social Service Organizations may enroll and register with Team Fee (individual member fees waived).
