SUMMARY:Impressionism and Pastels with Leyah Jensen Marshall
DESCRIPTION:Feeling Stressed?\n\nTake a FREE Art Class or Workshop this Fall!\n\nEnrollment is limited\, so please register asap.\n\nphone: (508) 228 - 0722\n\nemail: elizabeth@nantucketarts.org / lizb@nantucketarts.org\n\n\n\nExplore pastel techniques developed by the French Impressionists to capture light through the application of many small fractured colors to create the visual illusion of luminous\, pulsating\, soft edged light that is fused naturally by the eye. This classic tradition remains an informative practice for contemporary artists to study light by relying less on line and more on value and color variation to define spaces and form. Although Leyah will focus this class on various Impressionist subjects like landscape\, still life\, and portraiture\, students are welcome to choose among these subjects to advance their personal goals. Some knowledge of drawing fundamentals required.
