This project\, made possible with a grant from CARE for the Cape and Islands\, involved the design and construction of a wayside interpretive sign on the south west portion of the property along the easement path from Fisher's Landing to Eel Point Road and the popular 40th Pole Beach. The sign highlights the globally rare sandplain grasslands habitat and several species within the habitat that are unique about our 108-acre landscape. This opportunity raises awareness of the LLNF property and improves the visitor experience along this heavily used trail. The wayside was installed just off the trail near Fisher's Landing HOA property so that people are coming in either direction can stop to enjoy the view and learn more about our conservation efforts to protect these critical resources on Nantucket.
