MAAH welcomes educator and cultural steward Darius Coombs for a program exploring the enduring history and living culture of the Wampanoag people. For thousands of years, the Wampanoag have stewarded these homelands by hunting in the forests, fishing the waters, cultivating the land, and keeping a reciprocal relationship with the natural world. Through this engaging presentation, Coombs traces the changes and adaptations of Wampanoag culture across centuries while highlighting the resilience, continuity, and strength of a people who remain rooted in their ancestral homelands. Spanning from the distant past to the present day, this program offers audiences a deeper understanding of Wampanoag history, culture, and community today.
