44th Annual Daffodil Festival 2018
The Chamber's 44th annual Daffodil Festival Weekend—April 27-29—is our "kitschy" kickoff to spring and pays homage to the island's bold and brilliant signature bloom. This wacky, whimsical and wonderful weekend attracts revelers of all ages to our shores for a series of fun and festive events, featuring an Antique Car Parade. 100+ vintage vehicles (and motorcycles!) vie for prizes in the categories of Best Decorated, Most Authentic and People's Choice. The Daffy Hat, Dog and Children's Parades add to the festivities, with ribbons awarded for the most inventively decorated chapeaux, hounds and kids' "trikes." Cars motor out to 'Sconset for the traditional Tailgate Picnic (awards abound) welcoming participants, locals and visitors alike for an al fresco post-Parade "nosh." (Pack a bountiful basket of brunch fare as you bask in the sun's benevolent rays... the scenery is incomparable!) For those wishing to remain in Town, there's a Family Picnic at Children's Beach featuring pirate stories and live music from the Bandstand.
