Leadership Panel - Leading Through Crisis: Lessons from Nantucket's Power Outage
Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for our third annual Leadership Panel - Leading Through Crisis: Lessons from Nantucket's Power Outage, Wednesday, February 12th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at The Restaurant at Miacomet Golf Course, 12 West Miacomet Road.
Nantucket Island experienced one of the most impactful power outages in its history over the 50th Nantucket Christmas Stroll weekend. Island-wide, businesses invested and prepared in anticipation of a successful weekend of commerce. The outage was devastating for many, with some estimating millions in lost revenue for local businesses.
Our expert panel of local leaders will offer their insights on how they managed and are managing their business through this crisis. We will touch on the impact it has had on their business and staff, and the steps they're taking on the path of resilience. This event will be moderated by Holly Ruth Finigan, Author, Life Coach and Owner of Happy Place Retail. It will be an impactful and interactive discussion you don't want to miss!
*Dinner included with ticket, cash bar for beverages and libations*

Holly Ruth Finigan - Author, Life Coach and Owner of Happy Place Retail
And yet, the heart of Holly’s story is not hard work, but heart work. In 2018, she received open heart surgery and two years later, at the height of her blACKbook success, Holly shut down her whole digital marketing business. She turned her empire inward and began leading breathwork and meditation. This spiritual awakening was the subject of her first book, Wholeheartedly: The One You Want to Find is You. Holly’s new mission has transformed her from creating luxurious travel experiences into curating opportunities to help people heal themselves and experience the transformative alchemy that is Nantucket.
Andrea Solimeo - Chef-Owner of Ventuno Restaurant
Andrea Solimeo grew up between Westchester County, and Calabria. From eating fresh vegetables from his grandmother’s garden in Italy to crushing deli sandwiches in New York, Solimeo was fascinated with food by the time he was a teenager. His first industry job was slinging pizzas in Rye, New York, but all he wanted to do was cook in Italy. Armed with dual citizenship, Solimeo would spend nine months in Italy and three summer months on Nantucket. He did four cycles at Il Sole in Bologna, a year at Le Calandre, then another four year stint under Massimo Bottura at the three-Michelin starred Osteria Francescana. In 2012, Solimeo was made chef de cuisine of Ventuno on Nantucket. In 2016, the former ownership group offered to sell the business to him and business partner, Taylor Oliver. They took over the fine dining Italian restaurant, and in 2019 opened Pizzeria Gemelle, a Neapolitan-style pizzeria that focuses on local, farm-fresh ingredients. They were also offered the restaurant space in the Greydon House, which they transformed into Via Mare, a Venetian-inspired, Nantucket produce and seafood-fueled restaurant.
