Nantucket Housing 101
Nantucket Housing 101: A practical guide to the island’s housing resources, from the people behind them.
Five of Nantucket’s housing leaders will come together for Nantucket Housing 101, a free public panel discussion hosted by Remain in the Great Hall at the Nantucket Atheneum on Monday, October 5.
Nantucket’s growing network of organizations, programs and funding sources working to preserve and expand year-round housing can be challenging for residents, homeowners and landlords to understand and navigate. Nantucket Housing 101 brings the people behind the resources together in one room. Moderator Samantha Pillion, a Nantucket native who has spent the past year researching the island’s housing landscape on behalf of Remain, will open with an overview of her findings. Panelists will then use real-world scenarios—from a year-round resident searching for an affordable rental to a homeowner considering an accessory dwelling unit—to explore how programs from different organizations can work together to help keep and create homes for the year-round community. The discussion will conclude with an audience question-and-answer session.
