Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk) joins Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, The Responder) in David Ireland’s critically acclaimed and subversively funny new play. After years in the 12-step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous, James becomes a sponsor to newcomer Luka. The pair connect over black coffee and shared stories as a fragile friendship begins to take shape. When Luka reaches step five, the moment of confession, dangerous truths surface and the trust at the center of their recoveries is pushed to its breaking point. Finn den Hertog directs this provocative and compelling production, filmed live from London’s West End.
