Night at the Museum

Step back in time and explore Egan Maritime Institute’s newest exhibit, “Hard Times to Boom Times - Nantucket’s Waterfront”, which traces the island’s maritime and economic evolution from the hardships of the 1860s to the waterfront revival of the 1960s, when Nantucket transformed into a thriving elite tourist destination. Hosted at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm, Night at the Museum invites guests to enjoy themed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and an immersive exhibition experience. The evening includes the prestigious presentation of the Caldwell Heritage Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the preservation of Nantucket’s maritime history. Participating organizations include the Egan Maritime Institute and the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum. Attendees are encouraged to dress in Vintage Nantucket attire, think madras, seersucker, shift dresses, and New England prep, and to look out for special shopping pop-ups to complete their look. Ticket tiers range from $150 to $6250 depending on membership level and sponsorship.
