Egan Maritime Institute proudly announces the reopening of the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum for its 2026 season on Monday, May 25. Located at 158 Polpis Road, the Museum offers visitors an immersive journey through the Island’s shipwreck & lifesaving history—stories of peril, perseverance, and renewal—set against sweeping views of Folger’s Marsh.
This season marks the grand opening of the updated Andrea Doria Gallery and the new Multipurpose Room, which features "From Coast to Coast: The Heroic Stories of Madaket Millie & Marshall the Sea Dog," an exhibit with vibrant, custom wall coverings that bring their stories to life and highlight both the east and west ends of the Island.
Museum hours are Monday-Friday, 10 am - 5 pm, and Saturdays, 10 am - 2 pm.
