Robert S. Barmen, Senior Vice President - Investments, Senior PIM Portfolio Manager
Rob has been coming to Nantucket since 1990 and working with business owners and individuals year round on Nantucket for over 20 years.

Robert S. Barmen is a Financial Advisor and cofounder of The Fourth River Investment Group at Wells Fargo Advisors. With more than 25 years of experience in wealth management, Robert takes a holistic approach towards helping his clients in all aspects of their financial lives. His goals-based philosophy focuses on managing client’s personal wealth to institutional standards while being able to provide customized solutions.
 
Robert has had the privilege of being able to work at several large institutions such as PNC Bank, Prudential Securities, UBS, and Morgan Stanley. In 2003 Robert went independent where he launched the first of three firms which he grew, managed and exited. Each of these focused on wealth management, asset allocation, alternative investments and Private Equity. His collective experience gives him a unique understanding by having navigated successfully the very circumstances his clients endeavor to overcome.
 
Robert works for families with exceptional requirements to help them manage their personal wealth through continuous and disciplined diligence and monitoring. His ability to leverage the strong relationships he has forged with institutional money managers and industry thought leaders gives his clients not only a unique perspective but also a high standard of care.
 
Robert currently resides in Pittsburgh with his wife Carrie and their four boys Will, Tommy, Charlie and Henry. Robert previously served on the board for The Pittsburgh Ballet, Palliative and Support Care of Nantucket, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and St. Edmund's Academy.


Gerald Cathell has over thirty years in the business of corporate retirement planning.
He earned his BA at the University of Pittsburgh and attended Duquesne University attaining a
certificate in accounting.

Gerald founded Capital Retirement Plan Services, Inc. in 1997 with the goal of helping businesses
by taking the confusion out of selecting and operating a retirement plan.
In 2020, CPRS merged with Definiti to have a national presence in the retirement plan industry.
Gerald operates as a Regional Sales Director and continues to assist clients with their retirement
plan needs.

Currently, Gerald resides in Canonsburg, PA with his wife, Jennifer and their two sons, Nathan and
Adam. In his spare time, Gerald enjoys shooting sporting clays and is an avid fan of the Pittsburgh
Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
