Volunteer Planting at LLNF

Please join us for a volunteer planting day to help restore natural habitats along the North Head of Long Pond. Come for a short time or join us for a few hours as we plant over 1,400 plugs of native species! We’re now in phase 2 of restoration along the North Head of Long Pond. After removing old structures, non-native plant species, and grading the land, we are ready to begin the process of revegetating with ecosystem-appropriate native species. A portion of the area will be upland sandplain grassland habitat. Another section will be planted as a transitional landscape with brackish-tolerant species. We will meet at 110 Eel Point Rd, where staff will transport you to the restoration site. All the equipment for planting will be provided. Please wear clothes appropriate for gardening.
