White Elephant Resorts, located on beautiful Nantucket Island in Massachusetts, is currently seeking an Events Manager for the Wauwinet Inn.  The Wauwinet is a Relais & Chateaux property, and TOPPER’S is a recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award.
*This position is a year-round position for benefits purposes working 10 months of the year March 1st – December 31st.
The Events Manager will be responsible for the management of all aspects of events and conferences at the hotel. Primarily, the Events Manager will act as the point person for clients, detailing of events, executing weddings and corporate meetings, all while working within the TOPPER’S food and beverage team.  The ideal candidate would be focused on creating amazing moments for event clients, be flexible to a varied schedule and a strong communicator. The Events Manager will be required to produce complete Banquet Event Orders and floor plans to ensure proper execution of the entire event including Food & Beverage, timeline, coordination of vendors and complete production of the event.
The right candidate must have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Catering, Hospitality and/or Sales, to include Weddings and Food & Beverage experience. Preferably in a Management role.
The Events Manager is also expected to assist with regular F&B operations at TOPPER’S during regular hours and Holidays.  May also handle events at other White Elephant Resorts locations.
This position requires relocation to Nantucket and starts March 2025.
Must have:

  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic personality
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A good knowledge base of event operations including planning, detailing and food and beverage.
Applicants should also work well under pressure, possess excellent communication skills, be extremely organized, flexible, self-motivated, and have a great sense of humor. Experience with computers and Microsoft Office essential.
