The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce is expanding its team and is looking for motivated, high-energy candidates to join a staff of professionals committed to Nantucket’s economic vibrancy and to promoting tourism. Successful candidates will be team-oriented and will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.  Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the positions are in-person, on Nantucket.  

Overview of Open Positions:

Membership Manager:

Responsible for the retention of current members and attracting new members, building on the current membership model and exploring new opportunities to enhance the value of Chamber membership. Implement opportunities for strategic growth in the membership area.  Develop and coordinate year-round member-only programming.

Communications Manager:

Responsible for coordinating and executing on-going communication to the Chamber membership including weekly newsletters, Chamber event e-blasts and member sponsored e-blasts.  Coordinate social media to promote Chamber programs and raise visibility for Chamber events.  Develop strategies to enhance visibility for Chamber resources and services. Manage third-party agreements for other Marketing endeavours.

Tourism Assistant:

Responsible for serving as the point person for visitors and inquiries to the Chamber, providing helpful information and resources as appropriate.  Maintain overall organization of Chamber office, coordinate logistics for Chamber meetings as needed, and provide support for Chamber programs and events. 

Qualifications:

Strong member-service orientation

Basic understanding of Nantucket’s tourism industry and timing

Proficiency with Google products (GMail, Drive, Sheets, Docs) 

Effective communication and organizational skills

Critical thinking and problem solving
