About Us
The Town of Nantucket's Natural Resources Department's mission is to preserve, protect or restore Nantucket's natural resources through responsible active management, research, education and outreach to the citizens of Nantucket. Our department's work includes shellfish restoration at the Brant Point Shellfish Hatchery, water quality sampling, analysis, and management for our 2 harbors and 4 Great Ponds, endangered species monitoring, conservation commission permitting and compliance, coastal resiliency, shellfish enforcement, and sustainability.
